WageBeacon

Privacy policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

WageBeacon is designed to work locally on your iPhone. The app does not operate a server that receives your shifts, wages, employers, payslip amounts, calendar events, roster files, recognized text or exported reports.

Who is responsible

WageBeacon is provided by Redouan Kallah, trading as WageBeacon from Mechtildisstraat 16, 3066 GP Rotterdam, Netherlands. This provider is the controller for the support and website data described below. Privacy contact: rkappsupport@icloud.com. See provider and legal information.

Data stored on your iPhone

WageBeacon stores the jobs, pay rules, shifts, payslip comparison amounts, gross and net figures used for take-home estimates, calculation history and preferences that you enter. This information remains in the app’s local storage and is used to provide its calculations and features.

Calendar, camera, photos and PDFs

These imports are optional. Calendar access displays suitable events so you can choose which ones become shifts. A camera scan, selected photo, screenshot or PDF is processed on the iPhone with Apple’s frameworks to suggest dates and times. WageBeacon does not upload the source file or recognized text and does not retain its own source copy after the review flow. You review and edit every proposed shift before saving.

The original photo or PDF remains in Photos or Files until you delete it there. Use only rosters you are entitled to process and crop or redact coworkers’ information where possible. Manual entry remains available if you do not grant a permission.

Purchases

The one-time, non-consumable WageBeacon purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. WageBeacon uses StoreKit to load the product, complete or restore a purchase and determine whether the full version is unlocked. Apple may process transaction information under Apple’s own privacy policy. WageBeacon has no purchase server and does not receive your roster or wage data through StoreKit.

Reports and sharing

PDF and CSV reports are generated locally. A report leaves WageBeacon only when you explicitly choose an app or destination in the iOS share sheet. Your chosen recipient or service then handles that copy under its own terms.

No advertising, analytics or tracking

WageBeacon has no account, advertising, third-party analytics, tracking SDK, cloud text recognition or cross-app tracking. The developer does not collect or share personal, roster or wage data through the app.

Support messages

If you choose to email support, we process your sender address, message, attachments and technical details you include. Providing this information is voluntary, but without a return address and enough information we may be unable to answer. Do not send an unredacted payslip, roster or other document containing unnecessary personal information.

Depending on the request, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR to provide requested app support, Article 6(1)(f) for our legitimate interests in answering other enquiries, securing and documenting support and establishing or defending legal claims, and Article 6(1)(c) where retention is required by law. Proton AG in Switzerland provides the email service. Switzerland is covered by an EU adequacy decision. Routine correspondence is deleted no later than 12 months after the last substantive contact, unless law or a legal claim requires longer retention; provider backups follow the provider’s retention process.

This website

These static pages contain no WageBeacon analytics, advertising, forms, external fonts or scripts. To deliver and secure the site, WageBeacon’s hosting provider in the locations where its infrastructure operates processes technical request data such as IP address, request time, requested URL and user-agent on our behalf. This is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in providing a secure, reliable site. Logs are retained for no longer than necessary for delivery and security. International transfers, if any, use the safeguards required by applicable data-protection law. The final deployed host will be checked for cookies before publication.

Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact the privacy address above. You may lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or your local supervisory authority. WageBeacon does not use support or website data for profiling or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Deletion and backups

You can delete individual shifts and additional jobs in WageBeacon. Deleting a shift also permanently deletes saved calculations, paycheck checks, and report history that contain it, including the mirrored local backup used for recovery. Deleting the app removes its local data, subject to device backups that you manage with Apple. The developer cannot remotely view or delete app data because it is not held on a WageBeacon server.

Children

WageBeacon is a general work-and-pay utility and is not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app.

Estimates and policy changes

WageBeacon provides estimates from user-entered information and is not tax, legal or employment advice. If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before the relevant app update is released.
